Statement Hallway Console

The Brief

A hallway that connects the kitchen, living room, and garden but felt like an afterthought. Hallways are easy to ignore, but this one sits right at the centre of the house. It deserved more.

The owners wanted it to feel like a deliberate part of the home, not just the bit between rooms.

The Approach

A weathered oak console anchors the wall, dressed with twin teal gourd-shaped lamps topped with vibrant yellow shades. A jade laughing Buddha sits at the centre, flanked by coloured glass vessels and candles. A textured round mirror above finishes the composition against the marble-effect wall. Every piece was chosen for how it sits next to the others.

“People walk past hallways a dozen times a day. That is exactly why they should be worth looking at.”

The Result

It has become one of the most photographed corners of the house. A single console, the right objects, and a bit of confidence in the colour choices turned a passageway into something people actually stop and notice.
